Realme X Review

Realme presents its newest flagship, Realme X. This smartphone will further strengthen Realme's position in the world smartphone market.

Realme claims this smartphone fills a position on the family. Therefore, the company packs Realme X with high performance in its class.

Two main features of Realme X are quite prominent, namely the front camera with a pop-up design and fingerprint sensor on the screen.

Design:

This smartphone comes with a different design than other Realme products. Realme X chooses to hide the front camera with the pop-up concept, to achieve a 90 percent screen ratio. The design is similar to the Oppo F11 Pro.

The screen of this smartphone uses a Super AMOLED panel. The use of this screen is intended for Realme to be able to immerse the fingerprint sensor in it. This screen emits light in certain areas in the form of fingerprints, so users can unlock smartphones more easily.

Smartphones with a screen measuring 6.53 inches (1,080 x 2,340 pixels) are also comfortable to hold. But the body clad in plastic material, making fingerprints on the back easily stick. Therefore, make sure your hands are not greasy when holding this smartphone.

Realme X only has three physical buttons. The on/off button is on the right side, while the volume is +/- on the left side of the device.

Then at the bottom of the device, there is a 3.5mm audio jack and USB Type-C port for charging. The speaker grill is next to both. The front camera with the pop-up concept is on the top side of the device.

Camera:

Realme X is equipped with a 48MP main sensor from Sony IMX 586 for shooting in wide mode, and 5MP depth sensor. While the front camera has a 16MP resolution with an f / 2.0 aperture, which uses Sony IMX 471 sensors.

We use Realme X to take pictures in bright and dim conditions at night. Overall, the picture quality does not disappoint.

In the results of photos outdoors during the daytime, the colors in the photo stand out. When enlarged inside the cellphone, it does seem to have noise, but the details are still visible.

Photos with Nightscape, provide higher color contrast and better detail. But indeed the noise persists when the photo is enlarged. But to appear on a smartphone screen, the results are quite good.

While the Realme X 16 MP pop-up camera works well. When the front camera function is selected, the camera immediately appears at the top of the device.

Realme has taken into account its security given the vulnerability of the pop-up design when the cellphone falls. If the user accidentally drops this smartphone, the system will immediately detect it and the camera will automatically re-enter the Realme X body.

The Realme X camera also has a Portrait feature. But for this feature, the photo ratio is only 4: 3.

Performance:

Realme X is supported by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 720 processor with a CPU clock speed of up to 2.2GHz. Together with the Adreno 616 GPU, Realme claims this smartphone has a good rendering of 3D images. In testing the benchmark AnTuTu platform, Realme X scored 156,615.

Realme X benchmark score

Realme X runs the Android Pie OS with the Color OS 6.0 interface. An interesting new feature is the presence of a fingerprint scanner at the bottom of the screen. This fingerprint scanner is very responsive and only takes no more than one second to unlock the device.

In addition to the fingerprint scanner, other security features available on this smartphone are Face unlock and Passcode. The fingerprint scanner itself can not only be used to unlock, but also lock the application.

Realme X has 8GB of RAM and 128GB of internal memory. This large storage capacity makes users free. Unfortunately, this smartphone does not have a slot for external memory.

The overall performance is also quite satisfying. When trying to open the application at once, there is no lag. But indeed when trying to play the game for about 30 minutes, the body behind the device feels a little warm.

We tried playing the PUBG Mobile game on Realme X. High graphics were chosen automatically when playing the game. This graphic choice is tailored to the specifications of the smartphone used.

When playing this game, everything goes well. The movement of the finger on the screen feels smooth, and there is no lag.

To make the gaming experience more enjoyable, this smartphone also features Game Space. Through this feature, one that can be done by users is blocking incoming calls and the appearance of banners when playing games.

Conclusion:

Realme X can be an option for consumers who want to have a new smartphone with a price tag, and specifications are quite tempting. However, Indonesian consumers must be patient because the possibility of Realme X being released is only a few weeks away.

When released in China, recently, Realme X sold for around 250 dollar.

Without to spend high price, consumers can get some new features in the smartphone industry such as fingerprint scanners inside the screen and pop-up cameras.

Plus, the offer of 8GB RAM and 128GB of internal memory, which cannot be underestimated, although there is no slot for external memory.
