LG launches the LG K20 and LG K30 with 3000 mAh battery and 8 MP camera

LG continues to expand its mobile catalog and despite the fact that the mobile division has contracted in the second quarter and continues to give losses according to the data revealed by the company itself, it returns with two phones for its family K. Thus, without large presentations by medium, the new LG K20 and LG K30 have appeared on the manufacturer's website in Italy, revealing two smartphones with basic features with a contained price.

The LG K20 is the most modest of the two with a Mediatek MT6739 processor and only 1 GB of RAM, while the LG K30 bets on a Snapdragon 425 with 2 GB of RAM. Both share the same internal capacity of 16 GB, the same rear and front camera with 8 MP and 5 MP respectively and the same 3,000 mAh battery.

Continuous design with a single sensor on the back

The new LG K20 and LG K30 land with a design very similar to the one we saw in the LG K40, although here we find much more visible frames, both on the sides and, above all, on the lower chin.

While the first comes with a 5.45-inch FullVision TFT screen with a resolution of 480 x 960 pixels and 18: 9 aspect ratio, the older brother does it with a FullVision IPS with the same diagonal and ratio, although raising the resolution to 1440 x 720 pixels.

When we turn it around, we find some small differences related to the location of the camera module. Thus, in the LG K20, this is in an upright position in the upper left corner to give shelter to the lens and the LED flash, while in the LG K30 it passes to the central axis of the phone in the same position. In both cases, they arrive in two colors, Aurora Black (black) and Moroccan Blue (blue).

In the photographic section, the phones have a simple configuration, typical of the range in which they are located. Thus, we found an 8 MP rear camera with digital zoom up to 4x, autofocus and HDR, while the front has a 5 MP sensor with facial recognition.

Of course, the cameras of the LG K30 arrive with interesting additions such as the possibility of taking up to 20 photos to create animated GIFs or take clearer photos even at night when combining several shots, while on the front we find the bokeh and flash effect virtual for shots with more light.

3,000 mAh battery and button for dedicated Google Assistant

The differences between LG K20 and LG K30 appear when you look at the processor and RAM. Thus, the first of them mounts a Mediatek MT6739 with 1 GB of RAM, while the performance of the second is handled by the Snapdragon 425 with 2 GB. The internal memory is the same for both, with 16 GB of capacity expandable up to 32 GB with microSD.
The battery is 3,000 mAh that guarantees more than one day of use reaching 10.7 hours of video playback, according to manufacturer data, while as an operating system we find Android 9 Pie for both, although in the case of the LG K20 with Go Edition.

As for the rest of the features, the headphone jack, the dedicated Google Assistant button or the NFC support and the MIL-STD-810G certification in the case of the LG K30 stand out.

Versions and prices of LG K20 and LG K30
