OnePlus 7T Revealed With Triple Rear Camera and Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC
If something has characterized OnePlus over the past few years, it has been the launch of two annual high-end devices. At the beginning of the year, the firm showed us the OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro, and now, at an event in New Delhi, it has revealed the new OnePlus 7T, a device that is renewing the standard model.
It does so with a couple of interesting additions, although the most striking is undoubtedly its screen since the OnePlus 7T inherits the most striking feature of the OnePlus 7 Pro: the 90 Hz refresh rate. The device is also updated its processor and fast charging system, so let's get to know it better.
The circular module predominates in the rear and 90 Hz on its screen
We start, how could it be otherwise, talking about design. OnePlus already confirmed that the circular module with the triple chamber would predominate in the rear, a module made to, according to the brand, achieve greater symmetry. In it, we find the three lenses, a small description of each camera and the double LED flash. It should be noted that the rear is finished in Gorilla Glass and can be achieved in blue and gray.
Reviewing the sides, in the left area we have the volume up and down buttons, while on the right we find the power button and the classic Alert Slider that OnePlus always introduces into its devices. At the bottom, we have the USB type C and the speaker and the top is clean. No headphone jack, by the way.
As for the screen, we have a 6.55-inch flat (non-curved) Fluid AMOLED panel with FullHD + resolution (2,400 x 1,080 pixels). It is somewhat larger than the previous model and inherits the refresh rate of 90 Hz. Its format is 20: 9, it has HDR10 +, it blocks 40% of the blue light and increases its brightness to 1,000 nits. In the upper part, we find the notch, whose volume has been reduced slightly so that the screen occupies more, and in the lower part a small chin.
Needless to say, the fingerprint reader runs away from the back to hide under the screen. They comment from OnePlus that detection algorithms have been improved so that unlocking is "faster than ever, faster and more accurate." The front camera, hidden in the notch, will be responsible for executing the face unlock in two dimensions, so both options are available.
Performance
We leave the aesthetic section aside and we have to talk about performance, a point at which OnePlus has never let down in terms of components. The OnePlus 7T mounts the Snapdragon 855 Plus processor, a vitaminized Snapdragon 855 with eight cores at a maximum speed of 2.96 GHz and an Adreno 640 GPU overclocked by 15%. This is combined with 8 GB of RAM with two internal storage possibilities: 128 or 256 GB UFS 3.0, so speed should not be a problem.
As for the battery, the OnePlus 7T arrives with 3,800 mAh and the 30W Warp Charge 30T fast-charging system. According to OnePlus, the device can charge 70% in half an hour and stays cold when we charge the phone while we play. On this statement, better wait for the analysis to have a more resounding verdict.
The quick charge of the OnePlus 7T promises to charge 70% of the battery in half an hour.
All these components mentioned so far will be responsible for bringing Android 10 to life with OxygenOS, being the OnePlus 7T one of the first mobile phones to have the latest version of Google's operating system. The feature of the OS is the gallery, which now allows you to store content in private albums and automatically generates albums based on our photos. But it is not the only one since Zen Mode returns to make an appearance, now with a mode of 21 days. Eye, 21 days without using the phone.
Adding one more camera in the back
We ended up talking about photography, and the OnePlus 7T has abandoned the configuration of the OnePlus 7 and has opted for a completely different set of lenses and sensors. The main sensor is still a 48-megapixel Sony IMX586 with f / 1.6 aperture, 7P, and OS lenses, but now it is accompanied by a telephoto lens and an ultra-wide-angle.
The telephoto lens is a 12-megapixel sensor with the capacity to make two optical magnifications and with f / 2.2 aperture. The ultra-wide-angle has 117ยบ of the field of vision and 16 megapixels of resolution. The "Nightscape" mode can be activated on both the main sensor and the wide-angle sensor, which combines several shots with different exposures to improve the night scenes. A night mode, in a nutshell.
Also, now the OnePlus 7T can take macro photos of objects that are 2.5 centimeters away and stabilize videos using OIS and EIS. OnePlus has christened this technology as hybrid image stabilization and they claim that it serves to compensate for vibrations and frame breaks. Finally, note that the camera for selfies is a 16-megapixel Sony IMX471 sensor with f / 2.0 aperture and one-micron pixels with EIS.
OnePlus 7T versions and price
The OnePlus 7T will be available in blue and gray in an 8/128 GB version, the 256 GB version being exclusive for some undisclosed countries. However, the price in India has been shown and is as follows:
- OnePlus 7T 8/128 GB : 37,999 Indian rupees (about 539 dollars to change).
- OnePlus 7T Pro 8/256 GB: 39,999 Indian rupees (about 567 dollars to change).
