Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G Announced With Snapdragon 855 Plus SoC And 12 GB RAM
Xiaomi has announced one of its great mobiles for the second half of 2019. The new Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G repeats the essence and design of the brand's flagship, but it is renewed in almost all sections to try to rise to its competition. Better screen, much more battery, fast charging, and 5G connectivity.
The company has accustomed us to present a large number of different devices every little time, but it is today when it has unveiled one of its most complete and important smartphones of the year with the Mi Mix Alpha. A known design that seeks to improve connectivity and performance
The Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G has, as the name implies, 5G connectivity. It is the second smartphone of the brand to adopt it after the Mi Mix 3 5G. In this case, the crystal design maintains the lines we saw with the Mi 9 but a 7 antenna system has been incorporated to try to maintain coverage regardless of how we hold the mobile. As for the speed, we are promised up to 2.02 Gbps down and 1.78 up.
For the screen, we bet on a 6.39-inch AMOLED panel with FullHD + resolution, theoretical brightness of 600 nits and protected by the Gorilla Glass 6 glass. A screen where we also find the integrated fingerprint reader.
Inside we find the first significant change. Xiaomi has always opted to stand out in specifications and the Mi 9 Pro 5G does not fall short. We have the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855+ processor with 12GB of RAM and 512GB of storage. A generous amount that will be reserved for the most expensive models, as we will also have 8GB versions of RAM and 128GB and 256GB storage.
To accompany this performance, it is committed to an L-shaped steam chamber cooling system that, according to Xiaomi data, can reduce the temperature of the Mi 9 Pro 5G by 10.2º compared to that of the Mi 9. A Connectivity level we have WiFi 5, Bluetooth 5.0, GPS, NFC and USB Type-C port for charging.
Releasing the new Mi Charge Turbo system
The battery is another of the renewed sections. The Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G adds 4,000 mAh, but where it stands out is the incorporation of the new Mi Charge Turbo system that they presented a few weeks ago, with 40W fast charging and 30W wireless charging. According to the brand data, it is capable of reaching 20% in 5 minutes and 100% in 48 minutes. While wireless charging they promise to complete 50% in 25 minutes and 100% in 69 minutes.
Data to be checked in the analysis, but they are certainly promising especially considering that the charger included in the box is a 45W Power Delivery. Additionally, the Mi 9 Pro 5G is used to reverse charge with which to refill the battery of other devices. Having, in this case, a load power of 10W.
The photographic section has not undergone major changes. We have a triple camera system with a 48 megapixel IMX 586 main sensor and an f / 1.75 aperture. As for the software, the Mi 9 Pro 5G releases the new version of its customization layer: MIUI 11 that has stylized some menus but maintains the essence and appearance of what we had to date in Xiaomi.
Mi 9 Pro 5G versions and price
The Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G has been announced today in China and will feature several versions depending on the amount of RAM and storage. It will be available in white ('Dream White') and black ('Titanium Black') colors. These are the official prices :

- Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G (8 / 256GB): 3799 Yuan (about 533 dollars)
- Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G (12 / 256GB): 4099 Yuan (about 575 dollars)
- Xiaomi Mi 9 Pro 5G (12 / 512GB): 4299 Yuan (about 603 dollars)
