For several months we have been hearing about the new Google phones, although it has been in recent weeks when the leaks have intensified to such an extent that they have left no room for surprise. Finally, as planned, the Mountain View company has presented the successors of Pixel 3 in society.


The Pixel 4 and Pixel 4 XL are now official and have confirmed one by one all the features that had leaked, among which are, of course, the double rear camera, the Snapdragon 855 processor and the new Motion gesture system Sense Of the two models, we will stop at the little brother, the Pixel 4, whose differences with the older one reside, mainly, in the size and capacity of the battery.

The two versions of the cell phone share components in its technical section: they have a Snapdragon 855 processor, 6 GB of RAM and a 90 Hz OLED screen. The Google 4 screen is 5.7 inches with Full HD + resolution (2280x1080 pixels) and 2800 mAh battery, while that the 4 XL is 6.3 inches with QHD + resolution (3040x1440 pixels) and 3700 mAh battery. Also, for the first time, its main photographic system will consist of two sensors.

Dual camera to capture the stars

As I did in Pixel 3, instead of the notch, Google has provided the Pixel 4 with a screen with somewhat thick upper and lower frames (not the sides, which are quite thin), although the company ensures that the use of the Front is 81%. In this case, we are talking about a 5.7-inch flexible OLED panel with FullHD + resolution and dynamic refresh rate of 90 Hz (that is, it changes from 60 to 90 Hz depending on the situation).

Another of the great novelties is found in the photographic equipment: the rear camera is now dual and has two 16 and 12.2-megapixel sensors housed in a square module, meanwhile, it mounts a single 8-megapixel sensor with angular.

But if there is something that Google has emphasized is to add new features to the main camera. We have, for example, an Astrophoto mode, which works with a tripod or supported and makes a long exposure to capture the light of the stars. It also supports double exposure by controlling the amount of light to which shadows and highlights are exposed in real-time.

More power and improved software

As for the software, as expected, the Pixel 4 comes with Android 10 and some additional features developed by Google, such as Now Playing and Active Edge, to activate the assistant by pressing the mobile. In this sense, the new 'Motion Sense' system is striking, capable of detecting user gestures to, for example, change songs or pick up calls; According to Google, it also helps improve facial unlocking.

The most important features are completed with the IP68 certification of water and dust resistance, stereo speakers, the USB-C port and an assistant that promises to introduce instant subtitles in Spanish and improve your response time thanks to the fact that it will run locally.

The Google Pixel 4 will be available on October 21 in three different colors: bright black, white (matt) and matte orange. It will be sold in two configurations based on internal storage, both with 6 GB of RAM:
