About to close 2019, one of the years that Huawei will remember for the rest of its existence, and the brand still had the strength to renew its mobile catalog. We expected the date as they had been previously filtered, and there were not too many surprises: the Huawei Nova 6 made an appearance in China in the form of various models. Among them, the Nova 6 SE or Special Edition, a phone that promises a lot for quite a bit; at least according to the specifications.


The Huawei Nova 6 SE offers an aspect that follows the line of the brand. Bet on quality materials and casual colors that rely on gradients. The clean front where only the hole on the left is visible for the front camera, a fingerprint reader on the right side which is also the power button and a quad rear camera module that closely resembles the Huawei Mate 20 Pro; although it is placed in the upper left corner.

Kirin of the new batch and great amperage for an ambitious midrange

The Huawei Nova 6 SE comes from the hand of the Kirin 810. It is a 7-nanometer processor, which comes to compete directly with Qualcomm proposals such as the Snapdragon 730, one of the best mid-range processors of the moment. This Kirin is composed of two Cortex A76 cores at a maximum frequency of 2.27 GHz for heavy tasks and six Cortex-A55 at 1.88GHz for less demanding tasks.

If we continue to investigate the interiors of this device, we are faced with a configuration of 8 GB of RAM and 128 GB of internal memory. All this, accompanied by a 4,100 mAh battery, capable of charging at 40W. Also note that the fingerprint reader of the Nova 6 SE is located on the side of the device, a classic in the Nova family.

When it comes to the panel, we find 6.4 inches with IPS technology and Full HD + resolution. The notch goes to the upper left corner, in the form of a hole on the screen.
Four cameras with a clear inspiration

What most attracts the attention of the design of this Huawei Nova 6 SE is its quad camera, with the main sensor of 48 megapixels, a wide-angle of 8 megapixels, in addition to a macro and a depth sensor of 2 megapixels. The camera module reminds us of a lot of the one seen on the iPhone 11 Pro, a trend that we may have to get used to in 2019.

Artificial intelligence and the wide variety of modes are house brand in Huawei, and the Nova 6 SE does not want to do without them

The front camera is composed of a 16-megapixel sensor, with f / 2.0 aperture. As is customary in the house, the cameras are accompanied by artificial intelligence, and several dedicated modes, such as beauty, portrait, night mode, light painting, and so on.
