Huawei P40 Pro may debut 50 MP Sony IMX708 sensor focusing on video recording

Should Huawei continue with the tradition it has adopted in recent years, the company should officially present the new and powerful P40 line sometime in March this year at an event in the city of Paris, France. And as we approach the possible date, more details about the devices begin to leak.

This time a series of information published on Twitter and other platforms by the Ice Universe leaks, Teme and Digital Chat Station support camera details for the Huawei P40 Pro.

Bringing together all the leaks revealed so far, Huawei is expected to present the first custom Sony IMX708 sensor manufactured in partnership with the Japanese giant. This being the successor of the IMX608 sensor present in the Mate 30 Pro with 40 MP dedicated for the Cine lens, it is expected that Huawei will present this solution again, but jumping from the 40 MP of the previous model to offer a resolution of 50 MP.

Of course, the information is not confirmed, but this is the best guess for one of the main cameras of the Huawei P40 Pro. With that, we can also assume that perhaps Huawei can implement another 50 MP sensor for the main lens. This, of course, if we follow the logic used in the Mate 30 Pro which offered a 40 MP SuperSensing sensor and a 40 MP Cine sensor in addition to an 8 MP sensor for the telephoto lens and a ToF 3D sensor for depth of field data.

Huawei is expected to introduce the new Huawei P40, P40 Pro and P40 Pro Premium Edition in March 2020 with major improvements in the hardware of the excellent devices and cameras, but still without the essential Google services from the factory, which is likely to hamper the launch in international soil outside China and India.

The devices arrive on the market with Kirin 990, 5G modem, Android with a customized interface from Huawei itself and new fast-charging technologies reaching surprising power of up to 65W.
