Huawei Mate Xs Full Specifications, Price and Release Date

Huawei Mate Xs arrives with the Kirin 990 5G processor developed by Huawei itself which, as the company itself revealed in its official presentation, with the integration of the Balong 5000 that 5G modem.

It is said that the new platform offers a performance improvement of 23% in CPU, 39% in GPU and 460% in NPU, while energy efficiency also improves 23% for the CPU, 32% for the GPU and 290% for the NPU.

With this leap in the Neural Processing Unit (the aforementioned NPU), Huawei reveals that the Kirin 990 5G presents the best mobile artificial intelligence in its category: offering 1.9x more performance than the Snapdragon 865 with 5G and 3.2x greater energy efficiency than the same chipset, all in a 14% smaller area.

Huawei Mate Xs Key Features

  • Foldable OLED screen with a stronger hinge
  • Open: 8 inches with 4: 3 aspect ratio and full 2200 x 2480 pixel resolution
  • Closed: 6.6 inches at the front and 6.39 at the rear

Pixel size

Pixels are the basic building blocks of digital photography: they are the individual elements that capture light to compensate for your image. Pixels are usually measured in microns (μm).  Generally, the higher the sensor size, the greater the pixel size, the greater the pixel size. The more light you can take, the better your photo.
1 µm (micrometers)

Aperture

The aperture is an opening or a hole through which light passes. Aperture controls the brightness of the image that travels through the lens and falls on the image sensor. The lower the f-stop number, the larger the diaphragm opening is, hence, the more light reaches the sensor. Usually, the f-stop number specified is the one that corresponds to the maximum possible diaphragm opening.
f/1.8

 Focal Length

The focal length is the distance between the lens and the image sensor when the subject is in focus, usually stated in millimeters. The 35 mm equivalent indicates the focal length at which a full-frame camera will achieve an angle of view that's the same as the one of the camera of the mobile device. It is measured by multiplying the native focal length of the camera by the crop factor of the sensor. The crop factor itself can be determined as the ratio between the diagonal distances of the image sensor in the 35 mm camera and a given sensor.
27 mm   *(35 mm / full frame)

Flash Type

The rear cameras of mobile devices use mainly a LED flash. It may arrive in a single, dual- or multi-light setup and in different arrangements.
Dual LED

 Image Resolution

One of the main features of the cameras is their image resolution. It shows the number of pixels on the horizontal and vertical dimensions of the image, which can also be displayed in megapixels, indicating the approximate number of pixels in millions. Higher resolution means more image detail.
