Realme C3 Specifications, Price and Release Date

As planned, Realme has updated one of its most basic mobile lines with the new Realme C3, a smartphone that, in turn, costs about 100 dollars. It is a simple device (it does not have a fingerprint reader), although it is the one chosen to release two features.

Within the brand, it is the first smartphone to be launched with Realme UI, the new ColorOS spin-off customization layer. It is also the first terminal to release the new Helio G70 from MediaTek.

Being a smartphone in the most basic range, obviously, we should not expect too much power. As a reference, the Realme C2 launched last year had Helio P22 as a processor. This year's model maintains the MediaTek brand, but jumping directly to the G series of processors with game optimizations, the MediaTek Helio G70 we met just a few weeks ago.

This processor of 12 nm and eight cores up to 2 GHz is paired with 3 GB or 4 GB of RAM, depending on versions, and a 32 or 64 GB storage expandable by microSD cards. An interesting fact is that the mobile supports two SIM and a simultaneous MicroSD card. Also, you can have a data connection and receive calls at the same time.

As for the screen, we have a diagonal of 6.5 inches with HD + resolution and that is crowned by a V-shaped notch. The design of the back is quite clean because only the cameras and the logo are found, at no fingerprint reader.

The battery of Realme C3 has a 25% extra capacity compared to last year, reaching 5,000 mAh, in principle without fast charging of any kind. What is possible is to use reverse charging (charge another device connected to the Realme C3), using a USB OTG cable.

Dual camera and with Realme UI as standard

The selfies are in charge of the 5-megapixel front camera, while behind there is a double 12-megapixel camera supported by another 2 MP lens for portrait mode. The camera has some optimizations to improve quality, such as Chroma Boost that increases the saturation of the result. Also, it is capable of recording video at 120 fps.

The Realme C3 comes with Android 10 as standard, with the newly released Realme UI layer. It is not the first mobile with Realme UI, but the first one that comes pre-installed as standard. Until now the rest of the company's devices brought ColorOS from the factory. The battery is another of the highlights, for its 5000 mAh. It has a 10W fast charge, but with a micro USB cable. The screen is also large, with 6.5 inches, although the HD + resolution is maintained.

The sharpness will not be very high since the number of pixels per inch is low, but the battery promises to belong. This will also help Android 10, which runs under the new layer of the manufacturer, realme UI.

Price and Release Date

The Realme C3 has been officially presented in India and at the moment there is no news about its sale in other regions. There it will go on sale in Flipkart and its official store on February 14, in blue and red and two configurations:
  • 3 GB + 32 GB, 6,999 Indian rupees, about 100 dollars to change.
  • 4 GB + 64 GB, 7,999 Indian rupees, about 110 dollars to change.

Focal Length and 35 mm equivalent

The focal length is the distance between the lens and the image sensor when the subject is in focus, usually stated in millimeters. The 35 mm equivalent indicates the focal length at which a full-frame camera will achieve an angle of view that's the same as the one of the camera of the mobile device. It is measured by multiplying the native focal length of the camera by the crop factor of the sensor. The crop factor itself can be determined as the ratio between the diagonal distances of the image sensor in the 35 mm camera and a given sensor.

Realme C3 Front Camera

Modern smartphones have one or more front cameras and their positioning has led to various design concepts – pop-up camera, rotating camera, notch, punch hole, under-display camera, etc.

Aperture

The aperture is an opening or a hole through which light passes. Aperture controls the brightness of the image that travels through the lens and falls on the image sensor. The lower the f-stop number, the larger the diaphragm opening is, hence, the more light reaches the sensor. Usually, the f-stop number specified is the one that corresponds to the maximum possible diaphragm opening.
