Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra 5G Specifications, Release Date and Price
Every year there is an unavoidable appointment with one of the longest and most important phone ranges in the world, the Galaxy S. The launch of the new iteration not only brings together a huge amount of news on the day of the event but also from previous rumors. And, although we knew much of the characteristics of the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, that is no excuse for not having been surprised to know it officially. Without a doubt, he was born to conquer.
The Galaxy S20 this year starts as three models: Galaxy S20, S20 Plus and S20 Ultra +. Naturally, technical characteristics and size grow from the base model to the most gifted; also increasing the cost of the device. In this sense, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra is not exactly cheap, but it does offer a very complete list of specifications: from the new SoC Exynos to the spectacular photographic set.
As big as powerful
Having an 'Ultra' as the last name already suggests the aspirations of the phone. And it does not disappoint: the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra has enormous dimensions, its construction is at the highest level, the materials remain in the line of quality and offers a screen that dazzles in all areas. Large panel, very well used, with high resolution, compatible with HDR10 + and, for the first time in Samsung, the Dynamic AMOLED display offers a high refresh rate, 120 Hz, perfect for games and applications that make use of this high-frequency rate.In addition to including the latest Samsung SoC, the Galaxy S20 Ultra boasts maximum speed and a large amount of storage and RAM: up to 512 GB and 16 GB RAM. In this way, the mobile becomes the first Android to reach the figure of 16 GB of LPDDR5 RAM, a level that was reserved for computers. It remains to be seen that it means an improvement in terms of speed and, above all, multitasking.
The lack of a 3.5 mm jack will be a sound loss for those who wish to keep their headphones wired; although they can always be combined with a USB C adapter. Or pair them via Bluetooth: the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra maintains the usual sound quality, whether it is wired or not. And offering high-quality stereo speakers and compatible with Dolby Atmos.
A set of cameras with the extreme zoom
It could not be otherwise: Samsung had to resolve its differences in photography concerning its competition in the highest range. And it has done so by equipping the new generation of Galaxy S with a set of sensors, lenses, and software designed not only to make high-quality shots but also to blur the zoom limits on the phones. The mobile mounts a set of quad rear camera that boasts the 108 Mpx Samsung sensor that we already saw in mobiles such as the Xiaomi Mi Note 10. Also, it equips a 48 Mpx telephoto, an ultra-panoramic 12 Mpx lens, and a ToF sensor to complete the range of possibilities. And they are huge: from approaching a distant object thanks to its digital zoom of up to 100x to offer a brutal stabilization in video recording. It even records in 8K.
The Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra aims to obtain clear images, with a high level of detail, avoid maximum trepidations and get a photographic experience of note with its application of capture. Background blur, portrait mode, professional capture, different recording functions, also playful retouching options. Everything so that the user not only saves his best moments for posterity, he also has the option to share them instantly and with a couple of keystrokes.
Battery to give and take. Literally
Ultra not only for size and photographic capabilities but also for the battery. In this sense, the Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra has a 5,000 mAh battery that bets on fast charging with cable and also on high-speed charging using wireless chargers (Fast Wireless Charging 2.0). The ability of the phone to share power over Qi with another compatible device has also been improved: simply attach the S20 to the other phone or accessory so that it recharges.Samsung completes the cast of possibilities with 5G as standard, both NSA and SA Sub6. Also, it does not forget the ultrasonic reader under the screen as a biometric method of authentication, includes facial recognition and is protected against dust and water (IP 68 certification).
In terms of software, the mobile is updated to Android 10 and with One UI 2.0 as standard. As usual, it includes the usual Samsung applications, such as Samsung Pay or Galaxy Store. And it offers other added apps that complete the manufacturer's experience.
