Redmi K30 Pro and K30 Pro Zoom Edition introduced with 64 MP Quad Camera and 6.67 inch Display
Xiaomi introduced the new Redmi K30 Pro and K30 Pro Zoom Edition to the world on Tuesday (24 March). The devices reach the market looking to offer high-end hardware and the cost-benefit that not found in the Mi 10 line.
Therefore, both have a Snapdragon 865 processor, LPDDR5 RAM, support for the 5G connection and four rear cameras. However, to keep the cost affordable, the manufacturer had to withdraw some features found in other flagships.
So let’s take a look now at what the new K30 Pro and K30 Pro Zoom Edition have to offer.
Unlike other models launched by Xiaomi, the new Redmi K30 Pro and Pro Zoom adopt a design that closely resembles their predecessors. That's because the manufacturer left the hole in the display aside to use a pop-up mechanism for the front camera.
The pop-up camera is also faster than its predecessor and is activated in just 0.58 seconds
Lu Weibing, general manager of Redmi, said recently that the combination of pop-up and 5G cameras will become something very rare in the market. Even so, the company managed to make some adjustments to deliver the resource and offer up to 92.7% of frontal use.
The screen of the devices is AMOLED of 6.67 inches, which has FHD + resolution and supports HDR10 +. This display is manufactured by Samsung, has a refresh rate of 60 Hz, a maximum brightness of 1200 nits and a sampling rate for touches of 180 Hz.
One of the points that stands out is the power button since it is red in all variants. The fingerprint reader is located under the display, and the available colors are: blue, gray, purple and white.
In addition to offering good specifications, the cameras of the new Redmi K30 Pro and K30 Pro Zoom were also designed to deliver a good experience for users. In both devices, the rear main sensor is 64 MP (Sony IMX686) and has dual optical stabilization (OIS + EIS).
The standard edition also offers a 13 MP wide-angle lens, 5 MP macro, and 2 MP depth sensor. The biggest difference with the Zoom variant is that the telephoto lens has 8 MP and supports 3x or up to 30x optical zoom in the digital option.
In addition to dual stabilization, the devices offer Super Night Scene 2.0 night mode, document mode and video recording in up to 8K resolution
Announced with Snapdragon 865 processor, the devices have variants with 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM (LPDDR5) and 128 GB or 256 GB of internal storage (UFS 3.1). Besides, to ensure good games, the manufacturer also included a cooling system with nine temperature sensors.
The user can also take advantage of the P2 input to use headphones, NFC, Bluetooth 5.0 and WiFi 6. Finally, the battery has 4,700 mAh and supports 33W fast charging, while the operating system is Android 10 running under the interface MIUI 11.
