Honor 30 Series Introduced with WiFi 6 and Kirin 990 chipset: Price, Release Date and Other Features

Honor has introduced the new Honor 30, 30 Pro and 30 Pro Plus in China. The devices arrive on the market with premium construction, improved design, and powerful specifications.

They also use an OLED screen with a hole for the front camera and rectangular rear module. Another important highlight is the presence of the proprietary Kirin 990 processor and the periscope lens in all variants.

Featuring an identical design, the new Honor 30, 30 Pro and 30 Pro Plus arrive on the market with glass and metal construction, and the rear of all has 3D curved glass. To ensure a good experience for users, the manufacturer uses an OLED screen on all three devices.

The Honor 30's display is flat, 6.53 inches and uses FHD + resolution. Pro and Pro Plus models adopt a 6.57-inch curved OLED panel with FHD + resolution. In all cases, the hole is used to accommodate the selfie camera, with the Pro Plus variant having a 90 Hz refresh rate.

Interestingly, the Honor logo occupies almost half the rear of the devices, with the fingerprint reader being located under the display. Besides, we also need to mention that all models support 5G and WiFi 6 connections.

As much as all variants are similar when it comes to design, the same cannot be said in the camera department. Without a doubt, the Pro Plus model is the most powerful in its category and achieved a great score in the DxOMark ranking.

According to the manufacturer, the Honor 30 Pro Plus uses a set of sensors similar to the Huawei P40 Pro, with the periscope camera being a standout part. The set consists of the main lens of 50 MP, while the others are a 16 MP wide-angle and periscope with support for 5x optical zoom or up to 50x in the hybrid option.

The Honor 30 Pro model has a 40 MP main lens, a periscope with a 5x optical or 10x digital zoom and a 16 MP wide-angle. Finally, Honor 30 is the "simplest" model. Its main camera is 40 MP, while the wide-angle has 8 MP, the periscope has a 10x hybrid zoom and the macro is 2 MP.

It is worth mentioning that the Honor 30 has a single front camera of 32 MP, while the Pro models use a dual solution of 32 MP + 8 MP (wide angle).

As we are talking about smartphones aimed at the premium market, all are equipped with the Kirin 990 processor. The chipset works together with 6 GB to 12 GB of RAM and 128 GB to 256 GB of internal storage.

Other important highlights are the special cooling to allow hours of gaming and stereo sound on all models. The Honor 30 family battery has 4,000 mAh capacity and uses 40W fast charging. The Pro Plus variant also supports 27W wireless charging.

Finally, the devices run Android 10 under the proprietary Magic UI 3.1.1 interface, and Google apps and services are not supported.
