Motorola Edge and Edge Plus Announced: Price, Release Date and Features

Motorola announced its new Edge and Edge Plus, which as you may already imagine have many points in common.


Both have the same look, with only one point difference in the rear where the Edge has the focused laser just below the cameras and the Edge Plus brings the component next to the flash.

The front part is curved and has great use of the screen, which because it is OLED allows the use of few borders on all sides. The panel is practically the same in both models, with 6.7 inches, FullHD + resolution, and 90Hz refresh rate. The difference here is that Edge Plus supports HDR10 +.

Still, in the similarities part, we have the two models with stereo speakers optimized by Waves, 5G support where the network is already available, P2 port for headphones, 25-megapixel front camera, Bluetooth 5.1, Dual-Band WiFi and NFC.

On the other hand, the Edge has IP54 certification against splashing water, while the Edge Plus has been tested for IP68, but neither has a guarantee against liquid damage.

The Edge Plus comes with Snapdragon 865, 12 GB of RAM, and 256 GB of internal storage, while the Motorola Edge brings Snapdragon 765G, 6 GB of RAM, and 128 GB of storage.

Edge Plus is single-SIM and does not even support storage expansion via microSD, while Edge is dual-SIM with a hybrid slot. The Edge Plus battery is slightly larger, in addition to being compatible with faster charging, wireless charging, and wireless reverse charging.


Finally, both have a quad set of lenses at the rear. As expected, Edge Plus features more advanced cameras, with 108 megapixels on the main sensor versus 64 megapixels on the Edge, but 16 MP ultra-wide secondary sensor, 8 MP telephoto lens, and ToF cam are same on both smartphones. The third is for zoom, being optical twice on the Edge and three times on the Edge Plus.
