iQOO Z6 Lite 5G is certified and can launch with 120 Hz display, Snapdragon 480 and more

iQOO is working on a fifth model for the “Z6” family, according to the latest rumors. The Z6 Lite 5G, as it should be called, has passed BIS certification and could launch in September in India. This Wednesday (31), a new rumor suggests that this will be one of the most cost-effective basic cell phones on the market.

Digit.in sources who are familiar with the project reported that the phone will be equipped with a 120 Hz display. This, in itself, is not something innovative because of models with 165 Hz panels. What stands out is the fact that the iQOO Z6 Lite 5G will be a basic smartphone, but it will have a much more advanced display than the competition.

The leak also indicates that the new smartphone from the Chinese manufacturer will have a “powerful Snapdragon 4-series chip”, and the only ones in this category that are compatible with 5G are the Snapdragon 480 and Snapdragon 480 Plus — a basic platform that supports screens with a resolution of up to 5G. 1080 x 2520 pixels with 120 Hz refresh rate.

If the rumors are true, we could be looking at a new milestone in the industry, where cell phones focused on low prices now have more fluid screens. Most cell phones in this segment have a refresh rate of 60 Hz or 90 Hz.

One of the rare examples of a low-cost phone that does not dispense with a 120 Hz screen is the Motorola Moto G51, launched in November 2021 with Snapdragon 480 Plus. iQOO could serve as an “inspiration” for its Chinese rivals such as Xiaomi and Infinix, and start a transition to more advanced display technology.

For now, these are the only assumed specifications for the iQOO Z6 Lite 5G. Some believe that the cell phone will also leave the factory with a dual 48 MP camera; versions with up to 6 GB of RAM and 128 GB of storage; and a 5,000 mAh battery with 18W recharge.
