Xiaomi Mi 10 Youth Edition Go Official with 50x Zoom Periscope Camera: Price, Release Date and Features

Xiaomi presented a new Mi 10 Youth Edition. The device is a new premium intermediary and is already marketed in the West as Mi 10 Lite.


However, unlike its European brother, the Mi 10 Youth gained some improvements, the main one being the addition of a 50x zoom periscope camera. It also has the presence of the Snapdragon 765G processor and support for the 5G.


Featuring the same design as the Mi 10 Lite, the new Mi 10 Youth also has all of its rear cameras allocated within a rectangular module in the upper corner. Xiaomi points out that the device's body is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass.

As we are talking about a 5G device, the Mi 10 Youth draws attention by weighing only 192 grams. The screen is a 6.57-inch AMOLED display with FHD + resolution, 180 Hz sampling rate, HDR10 + support, and up to 800 nits of brightness.

In search of winning over the young audience, the new middleman is sold in white, peach, blue, black, and mint green. There is also a special edition known as Doraemon.

The main difference between the Mi 10 Youth and its European brother is the rear cameras. According to Xiaomi, the new device was designed for the competitive Chinese market and features a 50x zoom periscope camera.

Starting with the main sensor, it has 48 MP. The secondary camera is an 8 MP ultra-wide camera with a 120º field of view. The third sensor is the periscope with support for 5x optical zoom or 50x hybrid. Finally, the last camera features a macro lens with a focal length of 2 cm. The front camera has 16 MP and is located inside a drop notch.


The Mi 10 Youth has a Snapdragon 765G processor, which works together with 6 GB or 8 GB of RAM and 64 GB, 128 GB or 256 GB of internal storage. The suite also delivers support for dual-band 5G (SA / NSA).

The device is powered by a battery of 4,160 mAh with support fast charging of 22.5W. The Mi 10 Youth runs Android 10 under MIUI 11, has NFC, P2 input for headphones, and infrared sensor.

According to Xiaomi, orders for the Mi 10 Youth start today, and deliveries should start on April 30th. For now, the device is exclusive to China. Anyway, it can still be launched in the west as Mi 10 Lite Zoom Edition. See the official launch price:
